I use it until now it is running ok
Initially, I ordered the wrong item. I got a quick okay to return it and the replacement shipped out immediately! It was so fast that I got the new item before the old one and the return credit in 3 days, Installation was easy and now my wired alarm system is back fully online. I couldn't be more pleased.
State of the art product; Easy installation, clear directions, and flawless functionality to date!
Great deal on this reliable alarm, a festivus for the rest of us!
Installed the two devices the day they were delivered. Installation was simple and easy. Took more time to grab a screwdriver and ladder than it took to install one. The instructions were more detailed than I needed, but, were very informative.
Glad, to locate the updated UL217 , 8th edition detector to bring my home up to code for 2024. Easy installation and Universal Web Site delivered my detectors on time. Will, purchase my products as needed from them.
Just what I order to replace old smoke detector
An updated building code now requires CO detectors by every bedroom. We needed to add 2 more detectors to meet this requirement. We had replaced an expired existing detector a few months ago with this model and were very happy with it. So, with this new requirement, we used this model again. I look forward to NOT having to change the batteries for 10 years.
Product seems good, will really only know if it detects an issue. I like it senses 3 potential problems
Quick shipping. Alarms are a breeze to install. Loud alarm. Hope I never have the need to test them for real.
These alarms are easy to install. During the testing I realized they are louder than my previous alarms. Fortunately I have not had to have them activate in an emergency situation.

Easy install and product tested out fine. Time will tell about durability and battery performance.
Invested in new detectors for whole house: hard wired smoke, smoke and CO with sealed battery backup, sealed battery smoke and CO. Had to rewire as different plug than older units. Took a few hours almost 20 units, but straightforward. Happy with decision, purchase, and products.
I particularly liked the features the AMIC3511SB combination alarm. It came within two days of ordering with all of the hardware I needed for quick installation.
Not many dual sensor smoke/fire detectors out there, especially with a carbon monoxide detector.
Product FAQs
Many of our alarms come with a 10-year sealed Permanent Power battery that never needs replacing during the 10 year life of the alarm. Batteries in non sealed alarms should be replaced at least once a year or when the low battery signal sounds. Permanent Power battery technology helps keep you safe, because working smoke alarms are an important factor in surviving a home fire.
Battery-operated alarms are completely self-contained, powered by an internal battery, and require no connection to your home's electrical system. This makes them easy to install and ideal for any location. In contrast, hardwired alarms are wired into your home's power supply and often include a battery backup for power outages.
Early detection of smoke, carbon monoxide, and natural gas is key to saving lives. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends installing a smoke alarm on every level of your home, including finished attics and basements. You are also encouraged to install a smoke detector inside every bedroom and at the top of certain stairways.
You never know what kind of hazard will strike your home, or when. That's why we recommend technology that can detect carbon monoxide (CO) and natural gas as well as smoke and fire. You'll get the most protection from devices that can quickly and accurately detect and respond to a range of threats.
A smoke alarm that goes off when there's no emergency is annoying. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), such "nuisance alarms" are the leading reason why homeowners intentionally disable their smoke detectors. Yet doing so can be deadly. A survey conducted by the NFPA found that smoke alarms sounded in only half of the home fires reported to U.S. fire departments, and almost two-thirds of home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
Installation is a simple DIY project. Most models come with a mounting bracket and screws. After marking the location on the wall or ceiling, you can simply screw the bracket in place and then twist the alarm onto the bracket. For more information and installation instructions, please follow the instructions that were included with your specific model.
8th generation smoke alarms, featuring advanced multi-criteria smoke and fire sensors, represent a significant leap in fire protection technology. Complying with UL 217 8th Edition standards, USI 8th edition alarms incorporate the latest innovations to enhance fire detection. USI Sensing Plus technology, a hallmark of 8th generation detectors, offers superior protection against both fast flaming and slow smoldering fires while significantly reducing nuisance alarms.
Yes, all USI Sensing Plus Detectors meet new UL 217 8th Edition requirements for smoke alarms
You should test all of your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors at least once a month. This is as simple as pressing and holding the "test" button on the unit until it sounds. This ensures the alarm's sounder is working properly.
A 10-year sealed battery alarm offers a decade of continuous protection without the need for battery replacements. This eliminates the risk of an alarm failing due to a dead or missing battery, saves you from the hassle of annual battery changes, and prevents the annoying low-battery chirps that often happen in the middle of the night. It's a "set it and forget it" solution for a full decade.
Fire safety experts, including the NFPA, recommend replacing smoke alarms every 10 years. This is because the internal sensors can become less sensitive over time due to dust, dirt, and age. For alarms with a 10-year sealed battery, the replacement is straightforward, as the alarm will sound an end-of-life warning when it's time to be replaced.
