This 3-in-1 alarm implements a 10 year lithium-free battery (included) that will never have to be replaced throughout the life of the detector, giving you a decade's worth in peace of mind even in the event of a power outage. 10 Year Permanent Power also saves money from battery replacements (up to $38.00 over the 10-year life of the alarm), eliminates annoying low battery chirps and helps the environment by reducing environmental waste from disposed batteries. I needed a whole house replacement for new construction detectors that were at end of life and got a good deal on upgraded 10 year battery models and got a few more carbon monoxide detectors to cover every bedroom and added a natural gas detector. Replacing the ceiling mount bracket and a couple wiring pig tails was not too hard. Very happy to not have to replace batteries and to have the best protection for my family.

It was very easy to replace my existing wired smoke detectors with these new USI combo units that detect CO, smoke, and fire. So far I'm very happy with the three USI combo units I installed. After installation, I pressed each units test button and each unit worked perfectly. This was a great investment ordering online from USI. I, also, got a discount for my first online purchase from USI.

I purchased from USI because they were the only ones who made a smoke alarm with both ionization and photoelectric AND a carbon monoxide detector. I put these in each bedroom to make sure my family was protected to the best of ability. I put USI's regular ionization/photoelectric detectors everywhere else. I really like that they are hardwired and will all alert together letting us know about a dangerous condition no matter where we are. I will recommend these detectors to my friends and extended family because they are first rate products and because of the excellent customer service

These appear to be state-of-the-art units. I ordered 3 but one appeared to be malfunctioning. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING and they agreed to replace the one unit immediately. Once I get that unitl installed. Mark me 5-Excellent.
